Thomas Ruf in Interview
RUF Records currently feature an excellent interview with Founder and CEO Thomas Ruf on their website.

INTERVIEW ON RUF WE
Dreaming Dreams with Caro Emerald
It seems like only yesterday that Lou Reed was glowering into my camera lens, but Sunday saw the last major concert at Kunst!Rasen, for this year at least.
Only eight concerts, but the venue already radiates an aura of always having been there – as natural as the grass under it and the trees around it. The last song of the Season was ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’ and the singer Caro Emerald, but it could have been the venue singing – a dream of Concert Seasons to come…
Thunder, Lightning & Jazztube
It was the hottest, sunniest, day of the year – until 5pm.
Good news for the people in Bonn Centre though was that they could take refuge in one of Bonn’s Tube Stations and not only keep dry, but hear some great Jazz too.
July’s offering from the SWB sponsored Jazztube was as varied and entertaining as ever and choosing the best for an appearance at The Harmonie in October is going to be very, very difficult.
Zaz at Kunst!Rasen
The man in the front row with the red heart-shaped balloon is sure of it: ‘Ich Liebe Dich’ it says. Behind him are some 7000 people who are sure of it too. If you love beautiful songs, beautifully sung then you’d love her too. Zaz was back in Bonn on Sunday and even the Sun had his hat on at Kunst!Rasen for the Show.
Culcha Candela Put The Beat In Bonn
RIP Jon Lord
In August 2011 he announced that he was cancelling all concerts to concentrate on creating Music as part of a therapy to fight Cancer. Sadly, today, Jon Lord lost that fight.
Lord, 71, was co-writer of one of Rocks abiding anthems ‘Smoke on the Water’ but will be most remembered by Deep Purple fans for the Band’s groundbreaking 1969 album ‘Concerto For Group & Orchestra’. In later years Don Airey took over keyboards with Deep Purple and Lord appeared with David Coverdale’s Band Whitesnake. as well as working on numerous solo projects. For myself, and a great many other Rock Music lovers of my generation, Deep Purple were THE Band of our youth. As recently as last Saturday I was reminded of the power still wielded by Purple when Martin Behr from local Band Sunny Skies needed to play barely three notes before the audience erupted. How many songs are so potently embedded in our hearts as ‘Smoke on the Water’? Thank You for putting Deep Purple in Rock and in our hearts Jon.
