Singer Lisa Bassenge entered the jazz scene like a meteorite in the early 2000s except that the jazz definition is too narrow for her. The Lady from Berlin has positioned herself as a poppy song interpreter and has dedicated her new stage program “Mothers” to the mothers of popular music. Composers such as Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Suzanne Vega and PJ Harvey find their way into Bassenge’s program alongside Billie Eilish. In her song interpretations, she relies on her versatile and immensely soulful voice – in short, a first-class singer-songwriter in the jazz field with depth and poetry in her music.
Sounds like a very special evening is coming to Dottendorfer Jazznacht on 23 June.
