Kim Wilde at Münsterplatz last year
With the shift of Max Geisinger’s concert to mid-August the first musician to welcome Kunst!Rasen 2019 fans on 28 June is due to be Kim Wilde. The British Pop Queen will be opening for Tears For Fears on what looks to be one of the hottest opening evenings of Kunst!Rasen (literally) for some years. Wilde of course captured hearts across the pond in the USA with her mega-hit ‘Kids in America’ and anyone who caught her show last year in Bonn’s Münsterplatz will attest that Wilde still has a great voice and an ear for catchy pop-rock melodies.
Tears for Fears are best known for their worldwide 1985 hit ‘Everybody wants to rule the World’. The original duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have been back together since 2000 and a 2017 package sporting 14 top hits showed that the band still has a huge following.

Wolfgang Niedecken smiles at the prospect of a third Kunst!Rasen appearance.
More than 50.000 tickets have been sold already for this year’s Festival. 9000 tickets for appearance of Sting on 15 July were sold out almost instantly but other shows are also selling well, including Wolfgang Niedeckens BAP (16 August) Niedecken is celebrated for concerts that run to three hours and his fans are a loyal band, as evidenced by the sale already for the concert of some 6,000 tickets. Other top attractions this year are sure to be Creedence Frontman John Fogerty (16 July) and the Classic Rock Night with bands including Jethro Tull and Fish, not forgetting the closing night with The legendary Scorpions and support band The New Stone Roses (18 August)
