Beth Hart in Cologne

Ten years ago Beth Hart was a little too small for the Kunstrasen main stage, hence her appearance at the
Kunstpalast’ Marquee stage from where this picture was taken. Fast-forward ten years and seeing the fiery American singer live will entail a visit to Cologne’s mighty Lanxess Arena where Rock music’s creme-de-la-creme ply their trade in this area of NRW. Would I have liked to have seen her in Bonn? Yes, I would, for the intimate atmosphere that suits her emotional shows. But anyway, fans of one of the best female vocalists currently to be heard should make a diary note not to book any holiday away from home on Monday 18 November 2024 and also note that ticket pre-sale starts today (2 November) see links at the end of this article.

Beth Hart is as real as it gets. In a music industry full of
glossy productions and blown-up photo shoots, she is an artist who lays her cards
on the table, revealing her darkest secrets and inviting people to
to accompany her on her emotional journey.

New fans may know Beth as the all-conquering global icon described by the
Times as “extraordinary” and The Guardian as “daring, brooding and angry”.
But to understand her rollercoaster story, you only have to read the lyrics to “War In My Mind”.
Beth Hart is considered one of the most talented voices of her generation. She has performed
sold-out tours around the world, including performances at venerable venues such as the
Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Ziggo
Dome in Amsterdam.

Beth has reached the top of the Billboard charts six times, gone double platinum and
had a series of top 10 albums in the charts throughout Europe.
Like her great role model Janis Joplin, Beth Hart is a musical and emotional force on stage.
Hardly any other singer gives free rein to her feelings as freely on stage as the Californian singer. She
screams, purrs, breathes, moans and confronts the audience with her entire range of emotions. There is no other singer who brings her personality to the stage so authentically and fascinates the audience so emphatically. Visit a show and you will fall for the blues shouter forever and ever.

It’s not surprising then that Beth Hart has made her way up from the clubs to the big
renowned halls in the last ten years, and has long been a visitor to the top 10 in the album charts with her albums, most recently with her Led Zeppelin tribute album. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa and other rock legends are among the well-known admirers of the singer, who has since been nominated for a Grammy.
nominated singer herself.

Despite a good dozen excellent studio albums, Beth’s true domain remains the stage.
Here you can experience the blues-rock lady as a volcano that is on the verge of erupting, is silent one moment and the next breaks out in an emotional torrent.
