At a time when Bonn is increasingly being derided as the ‘Silent City’ with it’s seemingly endless stand-offs over decibels and life quality The Hard Rock/Metal scene might be feared to suffer the most. All the more reason then to support an excellent new release from local Band Deserted called Heroes as well as get an update on the current local scene via a microcosm of support bands from the area.

Popmotor revs up in Bad Godesberg
Frankfurt Band Velo (pictured left drumming up publicity in Poststrasse) are just one of the Bands entered for this years PopMotor Band competition.
The aim ofPopMotor is to promote and instruct new musical talent from the NRW/Rhineland Pfalz area. To this end, various venues from Koblenz to Cologne are holding the competition, for which prizes include CD production, Band Coaching and Festival slots. No doubt they will all be spurred on by the news that last years winners, Siamese Smile, go on a UK Tour in October and that no fewer than six past Popmotor Bands are featured in this years Rhine in Flammen on 3 May.
The first round preliminaries begin at Klangstation in Bad Godesberg on 10 March and may the Best Band win!
