There’s plenty of guitar based action going on in the Blues world these days, but Bluesharp seems to be somewhat forgotten. When did I last see someone holding a harmonica on the front of a CD in my local store? Well there’s one now. It’s a killer, and it’s British. Step forward Brighton’s Will Wilde and a lesson in pure Raw Blues

Sunny Skies in Poppelsdorf
I know the bands material so well now that I stuck an old envelope and a pen in my pocket before heading out the door. There’s usually a surprise or two in the band even after all these years – the last appearance (which I missed) saw Patrick Sühl add an extra guitar attack to the band, so who knows? Sunny Skies were making their last appearance of 2013 at the Poppelsdorf Street Festival
In advance of her appearance at the Harmonie on Monday (23 September), check out the 3SongsBonn interview with Dana Fuchs and DON’T MISS the show!
Bonn Folk Club visitors might like to check out ANNO Tubac on 5 October. Popular Scottish guitarist and singer Steve Crawford will be joined by Sabrina Palm.
Songs & Tunes from Scotland, Ireland and America are promised from the popular Bonn Folk Club artist. Start time 8pm.
Kunst!Rasen – Music & Memories by the Rhine
Aside from the odd future resident of Beuel, this weekend will be a rather sad one for Bonn. 3SongsBonn looks back on what was, what might have been, and what hopefully will be in future, down by the Rhine.
Green Side – Morblus (JHR 080)
American Blues made in Italy? The Morblus website lays their musical cards purely and simply on the table. The same can be said for their latest CD on Jazzhouse Records ‘Green Side’. It’s their first studio offering since 2006 and it’s a no frills but plenty of thrills affair for lovers of Blues with a jazz edge. How does Blues from Verona (birthplace of guitarist and bandleader Roberto Morbioli) match up then? Pretty well if ‘Green Side’ is any indication.
Tartan Blues is King
British Blues fans in the know have had a pearl of a collection to listen to recently in the form of a wonderful three part release of Scottish Blues musicians presented under the banner of ‘Jock’s Juke Joint’. It’s proof, if proof be needed, that there is a powerful Blues Community of which the mighty King King is just the tip of the musical iceberg.
Picnic with Beethoven

Stefan Blunier
Bonn’s Kunst!Rasen is approaching its Seasons end now whilst for others the Season is just beginning.
The Beethoven Orchestra Bonn began it’s new Season with a ‘Classic’ Open Air Picnic on Saturday, free for ‘All residents’. The aim being, so the Orchestras programme proclaimed, ‘to reach those people that until now hadn’t experienced Classical Music’.
Would they succeed? Did it rain? Did they manage to fit the whole Orchestra in the dressing room? An evening of questions lay before me…
