For 15 years, Jazzfest Bonn has been celebrating the diversity of contemporary jazz with its diverse programme reflecting all facets of the music. It’s become a place to discover new jazz talent as well as meet like-minded jazz fans since the Festival has become a magnet for jazz newcomers and die-hard fans alike.
With over 30 concerts and several thousand enthusiastic visitors each year, the festival has established itself as a key event beyond the borders of Europe and sets high standards of musical quality that are reflected in its consistently sold-out events.

Rebekka Backen – 20 April Telekom Forum
Running from 19 April to 1 May (with an additional Jubilee concert on 15 June featuring Rebecca Trescher Tentett and Ute Lemper) there are far too many great concerts on offer to go iinto detail, so my advice is to head over to the Jazzfest website HERE for all the details.
Many of the concerts are already sold out, but tickets are still available for some evenings. (Tip
for those who miss out: Public radio will be broadcasting several concerts).
The festival celebrates its 15th anniversary this year with familiar masters and new discoveries.
appearing in 14 double concerts over twelve days, that’s around 150 musicians!
The double concert scenario will bring both new sounds and familiar names.
For example, the singer and composer Cymin Samawatie: jazz, electronic sounds and Persian
Persian poetry will merge in her new duo with Milian Vogel to form what should be a fascinating concert.
They will be playing their second public concert in Bonn. Or the pianist Julia Kadel,
who is giving a solo concert at the Beethoven-Haus with new ideas – in a double concert with
Olaf Rupp, master of free guitar improvisation.
The great Ute Lemper, the virtuoso genre-breaker Olga Reznichenko, the bombastic
Monika Roscher Bigband, the funky-rock powerhouse LiV Warfield and the subtly filigree
Rebecca Trescher Tentett will all present their latest albums, some of which have not yet been released. But the programme also includes old acquaintances – such as singer Thomas Quasthoff, pianist Julia Hülsmann and the bassist Lisa Wulff. All back with new material.
Demand will be high for the Festival, so If you can no longer get a ticket, you can put your name on a waiting list for tickets that become available at short notice. Some concerts will also be recorded: An evening with Makiko Hirabayashi and Harold López-Nussa from the Pantheon will be broadcast by WDR3 on 21. April at 8.04 pm, live on the radio. The concerts of the Bundesjazzorchesters, by Cymin Samawatie & Milian Vogel, Gina Schwarz & Multiphonics, Linda May Han Oh Quartett, Mirna Bogdanović and many others will be recorded by WDR and
Deutschlandfunk and will be broadcast at a later date.
