British Blues Awards Winners

Male vocalist winner & 2nd in guitarist category - Alan Nimmo

Male vocalist winner & 2nd in guitarist category – Alan Nimmo

Proof of how well Bonn and the surrounding area fares when it comes to top blues acts can be seen from this years British Blues Awards.

Particular congratulations to Chris Barber for his contribution to Blues/Jazz.  Here are just some of the winners who have graced the stage in Bonn in recent years and came out on top in the awards.

A lot of well deserved awards this year.  Dani Wilde who made one of the best CD’s of 2015 is best female vocalist.  Laurence Jones who is carrying the Blues mantle with style that comes from the likes of Walter Trout – the survival man of 2015 following surgery that saved his life this year and fellow survivor Wilko Johnson made best Album with his bass man Norman Watt-Roy showing also how popular and loved Wilko and Co are (not forgetting Lindsay Coulson and Roger Innis who came in at creditable 2nd and 3rd places in the bass category)

How many times has Wayne Proctor made the ‘Best Drummer’ place?  If you’ve seen him with King King or the Nimmo Brothers you will know why.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to you all for making Britain a place where the Blues is currently booming with great musicians.
