So Long, Marianne

DSC_4098-Edit_DeNoiseProjecSad to hear that Marianne Sveen is leaving that wonderful bunch of Norwegian Pop felines Katzenjammer.  I have fond memories of their performance a couple of years ago at Kunst!Rasen and particularly of shots like the one above of Marianne.  The clearly pregnant pop girl’s photo proved very popular.  So much so that another from my batch was used in an article illustrating the band’s chutzpah by Womens political magazine EMMA SEE HERE
I suspect she will not be quietly disappearing into retirement!

For fans of the band (like me) the full story is HERE

Hamburg Blues Band with new face

Krissy Matthews at Museumsplatz 2011

Krissy Matthews at Museumsplatz 2011

There will be a new face appearing with the legendary Hamburg Blues Band at the Harmonie on 14 January.  If you caught Derek Trucks at the Museumsplatz in 2011 then you just might remember a then 19 year old Krissy Matthews delivering a slick and confident support slot.  Matthews has been added to the Hamburg band recently and the talented Brit will be an extra reason to catch the band – along with Maggie Bell of course.
Anyone good enough to open for Mr Trucks should be worth checking out!
