Bonn Kulturgarten 2021

A new edition of last year’s Corona-compliant Kulturgarten has just been announced from mid-June.  Bonn’s 2021 Festival summer is however due to start not in the Rheinpark but at Römerbad.

The season will kick off literally with televising of the European Football Championship, when, on June 15, Germany will play France. At the Römerbad, public viewing will be the order of the day, with BonnLive showing this and other games from the European Championship live on the big screen.  However Germany fares football-wise though Bonn will have plenty to shout about with a raft of concerts and live events.

Brings – 10 July

Musically, already scheduled are concerts by REVOLVERHELD, JORIS,OLLI SCHULZ, MEUTE, BUKAHARA, CAT BALLOU, BRINGS, KASALLA, CULCHA CANDELA, MOOP MAMA, MO-TORRES and many more to follow through to September including former Smokie front-man CHRIS NORMAN.

Besides the musical highpoints there will be something to smile about from top comedians such as CAROLIN KEBEKUS, ECKART VON HIRSCHHAUSEN, PAUL PANZER, TORSTEN STRÄTER and MARKUS KREBS.   JUNGE THEATER BONN will also be back  with family shows every week. Further artists and dates will be published soon.

The new concert venue at the Römerbad in Bonn offers space for up to 3,200 visitors per show.

Guests can again book marked out plots. How large these will be depends on the developing state of Corona of course. The individual plots are separated from each other by a 1.5-meter-wide quarantine strip in line with Corona requirements, with deck chairs immediately adjacent to the stage allowing for relaxed enjoyment. In the middle area will be beer table sets, in the back area a sunbathing lawn. Catering for visitors is to be provided in the square. “We practiced the hygiene concept last year often enough,” enthuses  Simon Reininger, managing director of the fünfdrei eventagentur.

Revolverheld – 19 August

Last year Kulturgarten inspired more than 46,000 visitors without a single Corona case. With this concept, the BonnLive Kulturgarten will once again become the largest cultural event in Bonn, possibly even in all of Germany. “We want to offer our visitors an unforgettable festival summer again this year -of course, completely Corona-compliant,” Julian Reininger, Managing Director of fünfdrei eventagentur, is pleased to say.  The Kulturgarten is supported by Deutsche Telekom, Bechtle, REWE, DeutschePost DHL Group and Auto Thomas. “We are incredibly proud to have not only renowned artists but also well-known supporters who spontaneously and permanently sponsor our projects in this way,”  The Kulturgarten is organized by fünfdrei eventagentur and RheinEvents. The two companies, which have organized the Green Juice Festival and Panama Open Air for many years, joined forces at the beginning of the Corona crisis and launched the Kulturstream BonnLive in March 2020. The total of 87 streams were accessed over 500,000 times. This raised more than 15,000 euros in donations for Bonn’s cultural scene. When it comes to car concerts, the two event companies can now also boast a varied portfolio.

Indeed the organizers are thinking big.  the 2021 program will be much more colorful than last year and they promise a great location “The fact that we can also pick up the soccer fans makes us very happy. That rounds off the beer garden atmosphere in the Kulturgarten perfectly.” with local artists also getting their chance “It’s really great that the Junge Theater Bonn is on board again”.

The venue has also changed: “We had to say goodbye to the Rheinaue, but we have found an ideal area at Römerbad. It offers space for up to 3,200 visitors,” explains Julian Reininger. “We are sure that it will be even better this summer.”
