No Laurence Jones with King King

hur_1764-edit_sharpen-projectsLaurence Jones will not now be appearing at Bonn Harmonie on 14 March with King King. Laurence tells me though that he hopes to have dates soon for a tour with his new band.

It’s certainly a busy time for the young Blues Master.  Laurence and the new band will fly out to  Curacao in the Caribbean at the end of January for three weeks, to begin writing for the next record and will be showcasing the new songs at a handful of low key club dates. Recording will begin later in the year and a album is slated for release late 2017.

The much-loved power trio format has now been expanded to a quartet, with the addition of keyboard player and backing vocalist Bennett Holland.  There is a new bass player too replacing Roger Innis.  Greg Smith who was formerly with the Sean Webster Band in the UK is the new man.   Roger Innis decided the time was right after two years with Laurence to move on to other projects – Bonn fans might even see him on the upcoming Blues Caravan Tour in January (he’s in the band photos at least).

So now maybe two great gigs coming up for 2017 instead of just the one?!
