Ian Paice has published the following statement refgarding his cancelled shows with Purpendicular (including Harmonie Bonn 29 October)…
From Ian Paice – regarding the cancelled German dates!
“Without going into detail about the situation of the cancelled German shows that I was due to perform with the band Purpendicular this month,(October 2025).
I want to make it perfectly clear that the decision to cancel the dates had nothing to do with myself or the band.
We were set to re commence work with the German shows, even to the point that Allessandro Debiaggi the bands Italian based keyboard player, had left his instruments with my European based drum kit, also my Italian based drum tech, Cimi Mezzano, had left his personal suitcase as well!.
Leaving them both with a logistic problems to get their belongings back.
We were informed of the cancellation during the 9 day break we took from the first part of the tour that began in September. (5 days notice!)
There was no discussion or negotiation with the tour booker or venue promoters with me or the band about the decision.
So to make it clear, this unfortunate situation was made without any knowledge or dictate of the musicians.
It was made by other parties/party involved in the setup of the tour.
When these things happen, nobody benefits, but usually the artist is blamed.
In this instance, we “the band” were’ like the audiences, 100% innocent victims of the decision.
Although I have no reason to apologise for myself or the band, I am sorry for everyone who have been let down by “THE BUSINESS” with this mess.
