British synth pop band OMD will be performing in Bonn for the first time when they take to the Kunst!Rasen stage on August 14, 2026. With over 40 million records sold and a career spanning more than four decades, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are among the defining pioneers of synth-pop and in the summer of 2026, Bonn will be one of only eight concerts by the British synth-pop band in Germany. Under the title ‘OMD’s Summer of Hits’ next year’s tour will be set around their greatest classics like ‘Enola Gay’ as well as celebrating the band’s current work.

Since their formation in 1978 in Wirral, England, OMD have combined experimental electronics with catchy pop melodies – a mixture that led them to worldwide success with songs such as Enola Gay, Souvenir, Maid of Orleans, and If You Leave. The acclaimed studio album Bauhaus Staircase (2023), considered their most political work to date, was followed in 2024 by a sold-out UK tour with a finale at London’s O2 Arena, as well as acclaimed performances in the US and Germany.

The Kunst!Rasen season 2026 will open on Friday, July 3, 2026, with a concert by popular Cologne band Brings. with events planned on the idyllic grounds in Bonn-Gronau through Sunday, August 30.

Approximately 25,000 tickets have been sold so far for the nine events in advance sales. The frontrunners so far are Roland Kaiser with just under 8,000 and Nick Cave & The Bad Seats with just under 5,000 tickets sold.
