Voting has now begun for the British Blues Awards. Many of those listed have graced stages here in Bonn so it’s also a chance to show appreciation for those you’ve enjoyed as well as finding out who is also worth further investigation on the British Blues scene.

Special mention must go to Wayne Proctor though. nominated in the‘Drummer of the Year’ category for the 4th year running as well as being co-producer on two discs in the album category, being in three of the best band nominated bands. Even the best song section has two numbers he played on.  Needless to say Wayne’s main band these days, King King, has a nomination in pretty well every category, with keysman Bob Fridzema only missing out through being Dutch I suspect (although Bennett Holland does make it – don’t let that surname confuse you!).

Good to see nominations for Dani and Will Wilde, Roger Inniss, Laurence Jones and Henrik Freischlader (International Artist) in there too.
